The COVID 19 pandemic resulted in lockdown and as the pandemic progressed support for the NHS manifested itself with a proliferation of images using the rainbow as a symbol.
Using this idea as inspiration John took a series of botanical styled photographic images using the theme of colours of the rainbow. Restrictions meant that his choice of subjects would be restricted to those that he could find in his garden or close by.
Some images were photographed ‘in situ’ other images were from plants brought indoors.
These beautiful RHS Gold Medal award winning photographs, along with the copyright, have been generously donated to the hospital by John. If you are interested in having copies of this work on your department walls please contact the Arts Team.
The photographs can be viewed on the corridor by the cashiers’ office at York Hospital.
