At the last Book Group meeting we discussed Dead Simple by Harry Bingham. This was our second collection of short stories and we have really enjoyed the format. It’s interesting to sample new authors and revisit those who we have read before, particularly if we didn’t like the last thing of theirs that we read! We were particularly impressed with the short story from Clare Mackintosh, whose Quick Read ‘The Donor’ we have enjoyed previously. The next meeting of the Reading for Wellbeing Virtual Book Group is taking place on Wednesday 2nd March at 7-8pm via WebEx.
Our next book choice is a full length novel – The Beekeeper of Aleppo by Christy Lefteri.
We don’t have a copy of this book in the hospital library. To buy your own copy, it can be purchased as an e-book from Amazon or the Kobo store or as a paperback from The Works, Waterstones, WHSmith, Blackwell’s, Hive or Bookshop.org. There are also copies available from Explore York, North Yorkshire, and Leeds public libraries.
If you have any further questions about the Virtual Book Group, please don’t hesitate to get in touch.
