Beautiful Birds
The Arts Team have been inspired! Having recently installed artwork by Gerard Hobson into the garden on the labour ward at York Hospital, we thought this month’s creative challenge for staff could be to do a bit of bird watching, as this time of year is ideal to spot wildlife before everything starts to bloom.
You could then create a painting, sketch, collage or take photographs and send it to art@york.nhs.uk so we can show it on the Culture Club Gallery
So get watching and creating!

Or take part in this Community Event on Saturday 12th Feb
Our newest Community Art Project is here! Suitable for anyone who enjoys creative crafts, all you need is enthusiasm. You can make birds out of anything… scraps of fabric, old clothes, old boxes or newspapers, even milk bottles. The birds don’t need to be flat and you don’t have to sew. Simple stitching is a great way to join materials, but PVA and glue guns are allowed as well.
We are going to run a rolling programme of workshops, starting with Family Friendly Re-cycled Birds at Southlands Methodist Church Hall this Saturday, 12 Feb, 10am – 12pm. This is a family friendly workshop, so children are able to attend as long as they are accompanied by an adult at all times. Places are limited, so book your space at https://bit.ly/AT2EH4.
‘Flight’ will be exhibited at York Explore Library in the summer of 2022. .
