New exhibitions at York Hospital

January sees the installation of six new and exciting exhibitions at York Hospital.

Jane Wilson’s Under the Sea exhibition is an array of experimental textile pieces which will include a combination of techniques and colour palettes. Joining Jane will be Hayley Louise Crann whose prints from intricate hand drawn illustrations are enhanced by using Photoshop to build the composition of her designs. Hayley takes her inspiration from the natural world and modern design to create quirky and colourful illustrations.

The Arts Team have the pleasure of selecting work from the photography students at York St John University who will be showcasing their second year work.

Ellie Chapman is fascinated by the craft of airbrushing and how the technique can be applied to a range of surfaces, transforming everyday objects into artworks. Her work will cover a range of subjects, including space, places and Lego!

Members of The Hut have created an explosion of joyous imagery in a riot of colour to represent the things that make them happy. The work will be displayed in the 3D space. We took their idea for this month’s creative challenge!

Jack Lowes’ dynamic photographs show the promise of this young photographer’s early career. His dad, who works in the hospital, brought Jack’s work to our attention and we’re sure he’ll feel very proud when he sees it up on the wall.

Photographs of all our past and present exhibitions are posted on the Exhibitions page on the Trust’s website
