Humans Not Heroes – recruiting for participants

China Plate are excited to tell you that following a successful pilot in 2020 (shortlisted for a Culture, Health & Wellbeing Award, nominated for a Student Nursing Times Award), the latest call out for their co-creation project Humans Not Heroes is live!

Humans Not Heroes has been created by China Plate, Coventry University and Kerry Wykes (Emergency Nurse / Nurse Lecturer).

They are actively seeking healthcare workers from across the country to participate in workshops led by award winning artists, to create a unique audio-artwork. They are open to ALL healthcare workers, students or qualified, patient-facing or not.

Healthcare Worker Participants 2020

Calling All Healthcare workers across the UK – The call-out for participants in this unique wellbeing project is now open with dates across 2021!

The workshops aim to give space to improve participants wellbeing in a supportive spaces, allowing for moments to decompress and process.

By taking part in this project, you will participate in co-creation workshops led by professional artists Caroline Horton or Rochi Rampal, you will collaborate with other healthcare workers from across the UK in a supportive online environment and co-create a unique piece of audio art work which represents your experiences of working through the pandemic.

There are currently two dates to choose from for Workshop 1. Workshop 2 is optional as the co-refinement process can take place via email. The sharing event is also optional and will be recorded for participants who are unable to attend.

Two more sets of dates will be released in a few weeks so check back soon.

All workshops will take place online.

SERIES 1 – Workshop 1: 25th August (6.30 – 8.40pm) | 8.40 – 9.00pm (optional)
Optional dates – Workshop 2: 21st September (6.30-8.30pm)  | Sharing event: 8th October (6.30-7.30pm)

SERIES 2 – Workshop 1: 13th October (6.30 – 8.40pm  | 8.40 – 9.00pm (optional)

Optional dates – Workshop 2: 17th November (6.30-8.30pm) | Sharing event: 3rd December (6.30-7.30pm)

We will plan an exciting public sharing of all artworks in December which we will invite all participants to.
