Hi everyone – we are reaching the end of the academic year now over at YSJ which means that deadlines are looming! This week I would like to share with you a few more Tiny Desk Concerts I’ve been listening to in between working on assignments. Feel free to dip in and out of these as always, and I hope you enjoy these performances.

Moses Boyd (20 mins)

Moses is a jazz drummer from London, known for mixing different styles into his performances and adding to the creation of new and niche sub-genres. This energetic performance reflects this, as we hear Boyd and his band work seamlessly together to allow everyone to shine through.

Imogen Heap (20 mins)

This performance is one I always gravitate towards when I feel like I need to listen to something familiar. One of the main selling points of Tiny Desk is being able to experience stripped-back pieces, and it’s lovely to hear Heap’s talents behind all the production of her released tracks. The last song in this set also allows the audience to have an up-close look at how she performs with her high-tech ‘Mi.Mu Gloves’ which she has been developing over a number of years.

Laura Stevenson (11 mins)

Stevenson gives a mesmerising performance in this Tiny Desk concert, with the string section perfectly complimenting her guitar playing and smooth vocals. The three songs in this set are the first I’ve heard from Stevenson and I will definitely have to listen to more now!

I hope you have enjoyed reading and listening through this week’s post! As always, please feel free to leave any feedback or further suggestions at the bottom of the page. Thank you!
