‘Reading for Wellbeing’ Virtual Book Group

The Trust Library’s ‘Reading for Wellbeing’ Virtual Book Group meets on the first Wednesday of every month at 7-8pm. All our meetings take place virtually on WebEx. If you would like to become a member, please email library@york.nhs.uk

The aim of the Virtual Book Group is to increase staff wellbeing and morale. We also want to help colleagues socialise in a socially-distanced way. Because we meet on WebEx, you can join us no matter where you live or work – all staff are welcome!

We are working our way through the ‘Quick Reads’ series from the Reading Agency – these are original stories from well-known authors of about 80-100 pages. The Quick Reads books are designed to make reading accessible to all, so they’re a great way to try out new authors or genres. Recent authors we’ve read include Adam Kay, Candice Carty-Williams, Kit de Waal and Vaseem Khan. All the books we read together are available to borrow from the Library’s Health and Wellbeing Collection.

The book we will be discussing in April is Ann Cleeves’ ‘Too Good to be True’, starring Detective Inspector Jimmy Perez from the bestselling Shetland series.

Our next three meetings will be held on:

Wednesday 7th April

Wednesday 5th May

Wednesday 2nd June
